LRB has enjoyed being part of the Pink Boots Society and we have made many friends over the years as members. In fact, that has been my favorite part.

The mission of Pink Boots is to assist, inspire, and encourage women in the fermented and alcoholic beverage industry and to advance their careers through education. Members of Pink Boots include the women that own the companies, brew the beer, package the product, design the labels, serve the drinks, write about our industry – and just about everything in between.

This past month, Charlotte was fortunate to host the National Conference. We haven’t had an in-person conference in over two years, so it was awesome to see everybody together again. As you know, the past two years have been a challenge for the hospitality industry and it was so nice to get inspired and see how others are recovering from COVID. But of course, the best part is being with old friends and making new ones. I was able to talk with women from Texas, Minnesota and just around the corner in Lancaster County.

In March LRB will be brewing a special Pink Boots Brew using the hops blend specially created for the society by Yakima Chief Hops. It will be released in April. The Pink Boots Society raises money by selling the hops for these brews and by breweries donating to the society from the sale of the beer. This money is used for education programs and scholarships for Pink Boots Members.

So, if you see a Pink Boots Brew please raise a glass for the women behind the brew!
